Why use a licensed contractor?
It is illegal to engage in an installation project over 500 dollars and not use a licensed contractor.
When selecting a contractor for your instalation make sure you use a licensed electrical contractor. CBC Technical, Inc. is owned by licensed contractors, and employs licensed C10 & C7 contractors as well as certified journeymen. We do not use RMO or RMA contractors meaning all our contractors are in house.
CBC Technical, Inc. is a licensed CA C7 contractor #927915 with reciprocating agreements in other states.
When comparing us to our competitors make sure they have the following:
- CBC Technical, Inc. Contractors are tested and licensed under the California Registrar of Contractors

- CBC Technical, Inc. has liability insurance
- CBC Technical, Inc. carries Workman’s Compensation insurance
- CBC Technical, Inc. is responsible for paying federal, state, and local taxes on materials and labor

Why should you consider these reasons?
A very simple answer! When you’re investing your dollars in a project or commercial venture, these reasons assure you of quality workmanship and a warranty that the services provided will meet the various local, state and federal building codes. You have recourse if they do not!
Unlicensed contractors may not meet the standards required for performance or compliance to the various building codes that may be applicable. Poor workmanship and non-compliance can cost you dollars! Are you willing to risk your money? Using an unlicensed contractor may be equated to spinning the roulette wheel!
WHY SHOULD I USE A CERTIFIED/LICENSED CONTRACTOR TO DO MY WORK?
For one thing, any contracted person doing work who is not currently registered with the State Construction Contractors Board is doing so illegally. Would you want this type of person working on your property?
The main reason that electrical contractors are required to be certified/licensed is to protect you, the consumer. Knowledge of, and adherence to, Local and National Fire and Electrical Codes are extremely important reasons your contractor should be certified/licensed. That is why only properly certified/licensed contractors may pull the necessary permits at your jobsite. Evidence of good credit, good personal character, and favorable endorsements by other fully certified/licensed contractors are also required.
WHY IS LICENSING IMPORTANT IN THIS INDUSTRY?
Licensing is very important to the electrician professional in California. In order to be certified and licensed as a Electrical Contractor, the applicant must successfully pass an examination required by the California State Licensing Board. Moreover, to qualify to sit for this examination, the applicant must show written proof of 4 years of prior experience in the chosen trade.
