Eric,

That is too bad that no one has designed an analog feeling digital console. It is probably in the works and we will see it once we all complain enough that we need separate encoders for each piece of the EQ on each channel, just as on a traditional analog console.

In my limited experience, I have found the Soundcraft VI series seems to be a bit more user friendly in terms of making adjustments on the fly. It still isn't an analog board, but everything is only one click away and then you work where you just clicked. Kind of similar to the Midas approach, but it seems that the location is a bit better.

I'll pass your concerns on to Midas as well. Thanks for the feedback we've received so far!

we have been looking at digital consoles for the venue I'm working at, and what they are all missing was a physical EQ on every channel. we decided to wait for this pro3 before we decided what we want.
by the looks of the teasers and the brochure this desk still doesn't have the EQ on the channels.

when will the designers realize that what we really want is a desk that works like an analogue desk (H2000/XL200), but is digital in the rest.
for live mixing in a venue, where you have different bands every day, bands that you don't know, you need to be able to get to the functions quickly and not first go through menus.
when you hear something going on, you want to have complete overview of the desk and of all things going on, and when you see that something is happening with an instrument on stage, you want to be able to dive on that channel and correct stuff immediately.

all the functionality is there in the software, how about just giving us a couple more buttons on the channel strip to make it look like an XL ??

Jim,
Thanks for the input and the idea of the heads up display. I will be sure to pass that on to the designers next time I see them and see what they think and can do. I too have missed many things on stage as I have been too busy dealing with other necessary things to get the job done.
